Our Organization

The Becky Walker Scholarship Foundation was founded in memory of Becky Walker - our mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and teacher - who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2019. She was the science department head at Spoto High School in Riverview, FL, and held a deep passion for her students, so we decided to host an event in her honor and raise funds for 2 - $10,000 scholarships. After enormous success, we decided to repeat the event annually and continue to fund additional scholarships in years to come. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievement, community service, and financial need.

To date, we've handed out 15 scholarships and have been able to nearly double the funds provided each year thanks to our new partnership with Florida Pre-Paid's matching program.

Becky’s Bash for Education, our annual fundraising event, is a community party featuring music, food, and fun. Save the date for our 2025 event on Saturday, March 29th! The proceeds from this event go towards the Becky Walker Scholarship Foundation’s mission of making higher education more accessible to those who need it most.
